Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a willi pint, crystal clear and golden yellow in color with a half finger width head that dissipates to a thin, broken layer of suds and a thin ring around the edges. Fair lacing, with some broken webbing, lines and small spotting.
Smell - Certainly smells like an American lager. Barley, straw, light sweetness and a bit of floral hop character.
Taste - Follows the nose. Some earthy, straw malt notes upfront, then a bit of fruity esters add some sweetness. Floral hops come through to add a nice hop touch. Aftertaste is clean, but lingers with a bit of that fruitiness that lightly tingles the tongue.
Mouthfeel - Light in body with lightly bogey carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a crisp, mostly dry finish.
Overall - Nice, easy drinking lager with a solid flavor profile. Inspired by the macro King, and it certainly crushes it in terms of flavor.
