From tasting notes 5/5/21
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a standard piny, crystal clear and bright, golden orange in color. Thin, broken layer of surface suds with a fair ring around the edge. Lacing is nice, with woven sheeting, some webbing, lines and small spotting.
Smell - Moderate pine dank, and underlying citrus on the nose. Hint of bread.
Taste - Fair, earthen dank upfront, then a bit of grassy bitterness and orange comes through. Earth notes deepen, then a tart, lemony zest pokes through in the finish, then really emerges in the aftertaste, especially in successive sips.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with a fair amount of carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a crisp, semi-dry finish.
Overall - That lemony note in the finish in this guy is really interesting, but the brew is aptly named, and I find it too dank for my taste buds to really love. Well made brew, but not my cup of tea.
