Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in willi pint, crystal clear and brilliant orange in color, with a thin, broken layer of suds across the surface. Good amount of lacing, with broken sheeting, blotches and small spotting.
Smell - Mildly fruity aroma, earthen twig and dank, bready sweetness.
Taste - Follows the nose. Fruity upfront with citrus and berry, some earthen bitterness of twig, leaf and dank. Mild spice hits near the finish. Mild bready undertone. Finish lingers with some pith and grassy bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, easy drinker before a crisp, mostly dry finish.
Overall - Well made, solid West Coast IPA, despite the flavor profile not quite being up my alley.
