From tasting notes 6/4/21
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a willi pint, hazy and orange in color with a thin, consostent layer of suds covering the surface. Great lacing, with solid sheets that breakdwon into chunks, webbing and small spotting.
Smell - Mild tropical fruit, mainly guava, with a whiff of pineapple. A quite noticeable bready undertone.
Taste - Not a lot of hop character going on here. Getting a bit of guava and a hint of pineapple upfront. Quite malty with white bread sweetness that really dominates mid-taste and through the finish. A trace of pineapple twang in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slick, crushable and refreshing drinker before a slightly dry finish. 4
Overall - Hmm. It's a good drinking brew, but its more hoppy blonde than hazy IPA in terms of the flavor profile. Maybe I'll revisit it in a few weeks, though I don't see how time would improve the hop profile on this guy.
