Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a can shaped pint glass, mostly clear and golden yellow in color with a thin, broken layer of white suds across the surface, thickening into a ring around the edge. Fair lacing, with some broken webbing, some lines and small spotting.
Smell - Fruity and dank, with tropical notes, a hint of spice and a heady undertone.
Taste - Follows the nose. Tropical notes of guava, orange, passionfruit and lychee, followed by some peppery spice, lesser pine and dank. Finish adds a fair amount of grapefruit pith bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with lively carbonation. Slick, supereasy drinker before a crisp, quaffable finish.
Overall - Tasty, balanced brew that goes down stupid smooth. Sad story that comes with the beer, as Claimstake lost a brewer recently, and this was the last one he mashed. It's a great one.
