Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a willi pint, crystal clear and pure gold in color. Thin, broken layer of suds across the surface. Fair lacing, with patching, broken lines and a few small spots.
Smell - Prominent citrus aroma, with lesser pine and a hint of pineapple.
Taste - Follows the nose. Citrusy notes upfront, orange and lesser tangerine, then a bit of grapefruit pith before pine and hops spice arrive for the finish. Clean malt undertone. Aftertaste lingers with orange and lesser pine.
Mouthfeel - Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick but firm texture. Goes down nice and easy before a crisp, lightly dry finish.
Overall - Well made classic West Coast IPA. I could do with less pine, but no denying this brew's nice balance and smooth drinking.
