From tasting notes 1/11/22
Had on-tap at Claimstake Brewing in Rancho Cordova, CA
Appearance - Served up in a 13oz snifter, opaque and orange in color. Barren surface with a razor thin, broken ring of suds around the edge of the glass.
Smell - Equal notes of tartness with a natural mango fruitiness. Underlying vanilla rounds out the trio of aromas.
Taste - Tartness hits immediately, followed by a natural mango sweetness and lesser vanilla. Sourness holds strong as the mango and vanilla fade in the finish and continuing aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair, lightly tingly carbonation. Slightly creamy, likely from mango puree. Smooth, easy drinker.
Overall - Certainly sour, but with enough natural mango fruit sweetness and vanilla to keep it somewhat balanced, though sourness is definitely the name of the game here. Simple but great brew, all around.
