Copenhagen 25/1 2021. 44 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. Guy in a white sweater with a head dissolving in colorful bubbles.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a big light beige head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, roasted odor mingling with earthy notes. Caramel, toffee. Dark roasted malts. Leather. Sour grainy scent.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is fairly dry.
Well balanced Porter with a decent bite.

L- Superfically black, though very dark ruby red with a halogen torch held behind the glass. Pours with a 3mm pale tan head.
S- Toasty, whisps of light smoke, timber log-ashes.
T- Roasty-toasty, coffee, slightly to the dry side, the former comes back again strongly into the finish with a heavily charred facet. It's also quite well hopped for a porter, yet 'within the balance' so it doesn't stand out and make you question it.
F- It's quite bright for a Porter, bright yet with a very clear and definable taste.
O- Interesting beer. Overall on the dryer side. Zero risk of anyone finding this veering to rich or sweet as with some modern black beers. In fact the taste is that forthright the Feel might seem a little thin in comparison - despite a reasonable 5.5%.
The can describes it as a 'Robust Porter' and earlier I was wondering which aspect is robust. It's not the Feel, it's the Taste.
440ml can BB: 04/08/2021. Bought from TremblingMadness/York/UK for home delivery.

Jet with copper-tan healthy foam. 4
Fig and coffee grounds nose. 4
Molasses, licorice candy, pure dark chocolate in the middle, a roasty correction, and brown sugar end. 4
Medium, chewy, round. 3.75
Not a stout? Big, dark, and chewy - none of the astringency that I heard about and drinks way heavier than 5.5%. Nice, but not what it says it is. 4
