look: three finger frothy white head with excellent retention, beer is a super hazy murky straw colour, very pretty.

smell: lemon sherbet, candy orange, wheat, oats, dank, floral, herbal, melon, different.

taste: so dank, herbal, floral, piney, lemon, melon, lot of mango, pink grapefruit, light bitterness, nice sweetness, toffee, some wheat flavours, odd, but nice.

feel: medium to full bodied, light to medium carbonation, super smooth, very drinkable for 8%, hides it’s strength well.

overall: not overly keen on this, but it is a nice dipa, unusual and still quite fun, and very drinkable

Got this one from the Duvel guy in Utrecht

From a 440ml can into a pint glass
Best before 17 April 2019
Ingredients: Marris Otter, Wheat Malt, Oat Malt, Lemon Drop, Citra

APPEARANCE: Pours out hazy and yields a 1 finger, medium looking, creamier white head with good retention. Very opaque and hazy amber yellow in color with no carbonation evident. Same pour and body as Let it Happen. Head slowly recedes to a full wisp and coats the sides of the glass. Faint wisp remains leaving no real lacing down the glass as it empties.

SMELL: Citra hops, lemon notes, pineapple and citrus aromas, with some mango and melon as well. Some light caramel and a hint of oat aroma in there as well. Fruity and nice but less forthcoming than Let it Happen.

TASTE: Citrus flavors with lemon and orange peel, as well as some melon and mango sweetness and pineapple up front. This is virtually the same as Let it Happen. Some booze at the swallow, moving into a finish of melon and mango sweetness, pineapple, lemon, and some light bitterness that lingers on the palate. Tropical and citrus flavors with a bed of alcohol on this one.

PALATE: Medium-fuller body with medium carbonation. Really creamy and smooth on the palate, a bit foamy perhaps, goes down smooth with a bit of a bite and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. A bit of booze lingers.

OVERALL: This is another good NE DIPA from Whiplash. There’s no reason to think that the Lemon Drop has done anything significant over the original Let it Happen, but an enjoyable beer is always an enjoyable beer, regardless of its name or description. Check it out if you get the chance. Cheers!

CAN
Milky blonde; oily herb + honeydew; Wheat Thin, juicy sugared grapefruit, lemon hard candy, slight apricot, big dank, green melon finish; soft.

Lemondrop, Citra

Citrus, as the hops would suggest. But plenty of kronik, too - freshness is helping with that, I suspect. Proper NEIPA, as Whiplash do.
