look: one finger tan coloured head with excellent retention for its strength, beer is jet black, no light bleeding through.
smell: smells absolutely gorgeous, roast, toasty, espresso, tobacco, sweet milk chocolate, treacle, redcurrant, raisin, fig, hazlenut, nutella, caramel, marshmallow, very enticing
taste: bang, it’s massive and it’s delicious, the balance of flavour is fantastic, roasty, toasty, espresso, coffee beans, cigar smoke, oaky, earthy, hazlenut, perfectly sweet, milk chocolate, toffee, caramel, dark fruits, big bitterness in the finish, sweet and smokey flavours linger, delicious
feel: full bodied, light carbonation, motor oil thick, lot of alcohol warming, lot of lingering bitterness on the back of the tongue.
overall: what a stunning beer, one of the best beers i’ve ever had, massive and delicious and perfectly balanced, excellent

On tap at Underdog, Dublin
Jet with tan head that has decent retention; hot fudge Sundae nose; brownie redux, maybe coconut, some cherry, coffee beans, touches of plum, fig, + ash; full + sticky.

with coconut, coffee, hazelnut and muscovado sugar
Chocolate! But to a ridiculous extent: it’s like sipping Hersey’s syrup. Needs some roast or barrel to cut it. Not the most unctuous pastry stout out there, but still too heavy to be fun.
