CAN
Milky golden blonde with leggy foam; evergreen, grapefruit zest, aloe vera + pineapple frappe; table water cracker then lemon balm, sage, white grapefruit pith, underripe melon, and twiggy weeds; tight, salty end + dry finish.
Ekuanot, Idaho 7 and Azacca
4 4.5 4 4 3.75
Nose jump forth the second the can is cracked; intense pine + lemon like a car air freshener.
The taste is those things, too, but far sharper than you might expect: Ekuanot botanical notes plus the wild + tart citrus parts of I7 combine to make this lean + pungent. It almost plays like the bitter, herbal finish of a saison.
With just pilsner for the base - no pale - the malt is not going to provide any sweetness. It’s the tropical Azacca that should be balancing things out here, but it missed its cue somehow.
Quenching + well made, but not easy enough for the ABV.
