CAN
Milky blonde with puffy off-white head; herbal oil, hop sack, lemon zest + underripe pineapple nose; porridge, lemon, apricot, wild grass; pillowy.
4 4.25 4 4 4
Amarillo, Sultana, Idaho 7
Dec 10 expiry - if this has 6 months on it, then it’s two weeks in the can to the day. That comes through in the aroma, which is all kinds of bright.
It made me expect a big hit of pineappley Sultana/Denail/Nuggetzilla/[insert name here] but sadly there’s just a juicy little I7 vein of weedy citrus. It is soft - it’d hafta be, with all that oat + wheat - but also can’t help being a bit thin.
I feel like Whiplash still don’t have the new brewery dialed in - they’re hitting triples when they usually hit home runs.
For Whiplash micro IPAs, I’ll stick to Northern Lights.
