Copenhagen 22/1 2021. 44 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. White can with a space helmet a warped blue-tinged face and some colorful psychedelic splotches.

Pours opaque murky slightly dirty yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of exotic fruit and rubber with light citric notes. Peach and mango. Citrus and lemon.

Medium strong carbonation. Thin, smooth, soft, tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Finish is semi-dry.

Nice and fruity with a gentle citric zest.

Growler from The Big Romance, Dublin
Hazy lemon yellow with a finger of white foam that sheets; grapefruit + onion on the nose; Lemonhedz, touches of mango + melon, scallion, vague peach, and hit of weedy grass; crisp, soft.

Idaho 7

The rough side of I7 - all tartness and twiggy NeoMex notes. Verging on savoury, too, which I didn’t know about that hop. As it opens there’s a perfumed, rose note on the nose + a bit of burn which makes me suspect fusels, specifically 2-phenyl ethanol - that comes from repitching yeast a lot, which seems plausible for Whiplash. It settles down later on into some mild honeydew, but it’s a roller coaster along the way.
Some nice moves, but I’m glad I didn’t get a crate of it when I had the chance.

2nd tasting, CAN, Sept 17, 2021
Milky blonde with a hot nose; stone fruit, citrus, fusels; creamy.
The body is the thing on second tasting: proper feathery. But that doesn't make up for the burn which is explained by neither the hop, the ABV, nor the yeast. I7 at its worst is still not as unruly as this; Space Operator misses a step somewhere.
