CAN
Milky blonde with leggy white head; cheesy start that clears to herb + rubber bands; oyster crackers, sour donut peaches, a dusting of white pepper, some anise, and mild noble bite; medium, soft, clean.
4 4 4.25 4 4
Crystal, Hersbrucker
This is toned down all around but, reading the commercial description, that seems to be by design: a less characterful yeast (blander WLP410 vs phenolic 400), a milder hop than traditional Saaz, and white peaches certainly aren’t Seville orange or pink peppercorns.
So, to judge it on its own merits, it succeeds: a gentle, malt forward, smooth-sipping beer with specks of nuance + mild tartness that would pair well with a summer brunch salad.
But I wouldn’t call it a wit.
