CAN
Chestnut with a fast-feeling but clingy finger of off white foam; raisin toast with hints of cola on the nose; pretzel crust with hints of carob, slightly bitter end; light, dry, prickly carb.

Magnum
Dunkel is dark without roast but this is really treading the line - it’s not burnt toast, but it’s very very brown. Double decoction is a double-edged sword, it seems.
It’s also dry as a bone, low on malty richness (which is odd, because it's all Pils, Munich + CaraBohemian) + the hops are there, so this ends up pretty lean and unforgiving. (I’m no German brewer, but feels like it could use some dextrins.)
All in all, it’s drinkable, but do I want to drink it?
Points for technical merit, but scores low for artistry.
