On Nitro at The Big Romance, Dublin
Chocolate brownie with amber highlights + a bishop’s collar; milk chocolate nose with autumn leaf + malted milkshake; Maltesers with hints of carob, cola + walnut; nitro-smooth, light-medium.
4 3.75 3.75 3.75 3.75
Starts well enough with some chocolaty fun but in middle where there should be some malty depth, there’s just a void.
I suspect nitro is scrubbing any character out of what might’ve been a great mild to start with. I get that nitro is an attempt to mimic cask with sparkler; I just don’t buy it - how do you get the dextrins from the body?
In the end it’s so nerfed, I’d have believed it was a nitro porter.
Drinkable, especially at this ABV, but instantly forgettable + not what makes milds great.
