Chocolate ruby with loose taupe head; wood, toast and hazelnut nose with a truffle comeback; cocoa, fig jam, kola nut, bread crust, sarsaparilla, earthy edge + twiggy end; light, clean, dry.

London-esque take on a porter - husky and “brown”-tasting. Balanced and drinkable. There’s some bitterness, though it could use bigger hops on the end for me.

Very decent historical reconstruction. Needs to be served in a pint glass, though.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Very dark brown to black colour, tan head. A classic porter this one. Moderate roasty notes in aroma and flavour, some "burnt" notes, fairly dry. Enough prune fruitiness to make it very drinkable. Jolly good.
