On tap at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal, Stavanger. Nearly clear golden colour, white head. Smooth citrus and pine in aroma and flavour. Nice enough. Might sample again.

On draught at Fidelity, Dublin.
Carpet of white over sunshine yellow; dim floral and tangerine peel nose; fresh bread crust, MiWadi orange, slight dank, light pine and clean finish; dry, light, slight oil.

Another “West Coast IPA,” eh?
Pulls its punches, hops-wise - hits like an APA. Also, too pale, not malty (no caramel?) enough, no body and not bitter.
Ends up just another watery hoppy quencher.
Not really anything it says it is.
Second tasting, Sept 26, 2023.
CAN
Tarnished brass with stiff meringue head; lemon rind, pineapple, and Pinesol on the nose; touch of golden biscuit, 5 Alive, grapefruit rind, vague cantaloupe + spruce ; dry, soft, light.

Centennial, Columbus, Chinook and Idaho 7
Funny story: I knew this was off style just by the start of the commercial description, “Pours a lovely deep golden colour…”
West Coast IPAs are amber. End of.
And so it goes: There’s no Crystal malt. There’s not the IBUs to match 6.3%. And I don’t know how they used Chinook *and* Columbus yet got no resin or evergreen forest floor in there.
But not all hope is lost: juicy, slight haze, gentle bitterness, light body, clean but not biting, low malt load, very drinkable…
Whiplash just made their first Mountain IPA.
Solid addition to core range, if they’d just call it what it is.
Bumping Feel + Overall to 3.75
