Slightly hazy sunshine yellow under loose white froth; candied lemon peel + dank on the nose; grapefruit, pineapple, yellow pear, peaches, diesel, more dank; pillowy, smooth, lt-med.

Unlike most Whiplash collabs, this one is transparent about which hops they've used. And maybe that's the problem: green citrus plus orange citrus is not the most intriguing combination.
What that does, though, is leave room for Whiplash's technical expertise. The body is so feathery as to almost not be there and, assuming these are the only hops and since neither of them throw stone fruit, it's the most complex ester profile I've tasted from Whiplash.
But it's not a lot of punch for the high end of IPA ABV, and certainly not the dream team effort I'd expect from a hybrid of these two heavyweights. It's just summery + a bit underwhelming.
Drizzle more than rain.
