Pilsner malt and spelt base, giving a super soft and silky mouthfeel with the spelt adding a slight nutty flavour on tasting. Citra, Idaho 7 and Cashmere all feature with notes of mango, lime & peach.

Slightly hazy bronze with clingy steady carpet of snow; lemon balm, melon rind + dried pineapple on the nose; madeleine, kumquat, lime zest, donut peaches, slight twig + a zesty herbal comeback to finish; smooth, light, clean.

Just about the most Cashmere IPA I’ve had: lemon, herb + melon is feathery, considered doses. Citra tropical + I7 wildness are surgical, just to boost the botanicals by contrast.
The body is gossamer - pils malt explains that - all the better to boost drinkability. (Spelt is meant to give nuts, sez the comm desc; I’m not seeing it.)
Whiplash seems to be tripling down on the not-so-hazy, not-so-estery post-New England IPAs that gain in lightness what they sacrifice in fruity intensity. I’m not in love with it, but I’m still here.
The latest in Whiplash’s climb into Mountain IPAs.
