Platinum with a snow drift of head; dried pineapple, key lime pie, and flowers on the nose; oyster cracker, cantaloupe, carambola, lemon chiffon, a thread of dank, catty end; light, oily, crisp.

I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face: you can’t make a West Coast with just Pils malt, Maris Otter, and Caraplis; by definition a WCIPA has a speck of Crystal.
This said, this is quite interesting. With no C-hop/Mosaic/Simcoe muscleman to lead the dance, this is all interweaving high fruit notes: kiwi, gooseberry, kumquat and whatever you’re having yourself. That never gets too candy sweet, though, because NS drops just the right amount of sweaty dank at the end to cut things.
Not perfect: even the light malts are too light - almost lagerish - and it’s undercarbed; but it brings some left field hopping at a not excessive strength.
I don’t know why Whiplash is labeling things New England and West Coast when all they’re making these days is Mountain IPAs.
Still, a bit of fun, in a white wine spritzer kind of way.
