Bright cherry amber with thin tan head that fades; beeswax candles, honeycomb on toast, flowers and spice on the nose; dark rock candy, toast crust, cereal grain, more flowers and a hum of pepper to end; clean, bitter, medium, dry.

Intense malt flavours with good complexity… and that’s the problem.
Caramel and spicy hops (Magnum + Mittelfruh, fwiw) both too high to be on style for an easy sipping Marzen, edging towards an ESB, of all things.
Well crafted, no doubt, but at the cost of the signature drinkability of the style.
Why do you use traditional methods when you do Germans, Whiplash, but then throw out the traditional recipe book?
