Named after Manchester Orchestra's 2011 album "Simple Math"
A super pale and hazy 8.2% DIPA built on a base of Pilsner and Wheat Malts that really allow the hops to play the lead. A mid fermentation dry-hop of Idaho 7 screams Pineapple and canned Peaches on the nose that we then lifted with a healthy dose of Strata and Simcoe to round out this dank fruit cocktail party of a beer. Oats see the palate through to the end with a creamy, full bodied finish that "hides the ABV well", as they say.

Hazy dirty blonde with a stiff meringue of crusting white froth; grapefruit peel, musty lemon, passion fruit, Pinesol, and dank on the nose; more grapefruit, dried pineapple, Lemonnedz, soft apricots, ganga, pine; soft, smooth, harsh.
Simcoe, Idaho 7, Strata

The commercial description says, “built on a base of Pilsner and Wheat Malts” but the label says Maris Otter with no mention of pils, so not sure what to make of the malt bill.
That matters because something needs to stand up to the stewy, resinous, tyre fire of the hop bill.
At the start there are some nice citrus and tropical notes that suggest the lighter side of I7 + Simcoe, but they are swept away by a wave of hop burn to end.
Hits way harder than the listed 13 IBUs, oats don’t lend the drinkability they should, and just not much fun.
The bad side of NEIPA.
Whiplash again shows they are no longer capable of executing the kind of beers they want to make.
