From 1949 to 1974, when Toronto was still just a toddling town, the legendary Brown Derby Tavern held court on the northeast corner of Yonge and Dundas. Along with the Silver Rail just down the street, and the Horseshoe Tavern on Queen West, it was one of the first bars in the city that was allowed to serve liquor! We brewed this small batch of Oud Bruin (or “Old Brown”) and aged it for six months in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels as a tribute to the old Brown Derby Tavern on Yonge St. We hope you enjoy this malty, fruity, sour and delicious classic!
