An pretty average brown ale. Clear reddish colour, moderate head that dissipates quickly. The vanilla adds a nice note to the aroma and shows up a little in the taste as well. Thin bodied, a little metallic. Just a wee bit of sparkle and sourness. Drinkable, but unexciting.

473 ml can served cold into a tasting glass. LCBO purchase for something north of $3.50 CDN. Canned November 13, 2019.

Appearance - Clear dark ruby / brown colored brew, a finger of light tan foam caps the beer and lingers a while. Some spotty lacing at the edges of the glass and a little bit of effervescence is visible to the eye.

Smell - Hints of vanilla with a brown grainy brown ale aroma, a little bit earthy and definitely quite floral. Rather robust nose in terms of intensity.

Taste - Some grainy flavors, light roasty maltiness, lots of vanilla, quite sweet and then drifts off to mineral water and not much else. Not bad but nowhere near the intensity the nose packs. Some tea like aspects mixed in too. Black tea to close after a few sips.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, a but dry to close, carbonation is on the gassy side, but is generally pretty good.

Overall - A good brown ale with a very robust and good nose the balance of the beer is pretty solid, but unspectacular. Worth a try if vanilla, floral notes or tea strike your fancy when combined with a brown ale.

473 mL Bottle. ABV 5%.
Appearance: Chestnut brown, one finger of creamy tan head, decent retention, high carbonation, broken cap remains
Aroma: Malt backbone, Nutty, oatmeal, Spice (tea), Slight pear.
Mouthfeel: under medium body, thin,
Flavour: Nutty, Oatmeal, Slight spice (tea), Apple, Rooibos more evident as it warms and you have your last sips.
Overall: Interesting beer... it could go either way. My beer drinking lady really enjoyed the fruit and spice in this one.
