I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent and taste had common californian ipa characteristics. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Tasted on tap at the taproom.
Beautiful, clear golden beer with a weak white head. Very little hops aroma, just a slight earthy, almost funky note over the sweet malt. Low tropical fruit hops fade to slightly sweet, bready malt in the flavors. Thinnish body for style with moderate, prickly carbonation. Strong bitterness, as expected. Alcohol very well hidden for this strength. This is a good DIPA, but I think it could use more body and a better expression of the hops aroma.

Appearance: clear orange in color with a 1/2" head that slowly falls.
Smell: some orange and earthy tones are detectable here.
Taste: caramel, orange, some fruity sweetness, and a moderate earthy bitterness. Alcohol is slightly noticeable.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp to start, less crisp and a bit dry late.
Overall: pretty good DIPA, but it seemed to have a milder flavor profile compared to others ones I have had.

Agreed. Maulty, but good. My wife loves it and she hates IPAs. Good balance of hops, mault, feel and smell. This is a new brewery that is doing very good stuff.

This is a very malty DIPA. Has a thick mouthfeel that is pretty oily, viscous and almost seems like oats were used. The hops seem like a normal C variety done well lending a piney, earthy quality. This is a nice double for my palate as it is sweet and malty. If you are looking for a bitter west coast IPA bomb, then this isn't going to be up your alley.

Very balanced for a double IPA. Great aroma. Seems not hoppy enough until a few seconds after swallowing, then you realize that the hop oils are coating the inside of your mouth in a very pleasant way.
