Clear golden color with a crackling white head that quickly disappears into the beer.
Smell is of chili pepper. Roasted chili pepper at that. Really over powering chili smell kind of hides anything else I could find on the smell. I do like the roasted pepper bit though.
Taste is like biting into a nice fresh roasted pepper and washing it quickly down with a nice lager. Spice starts to come up as you sip more of the beer.
Mouth is pretty light. About like an average lager. The finish is pretty crisp. A bit of pepper heat down the throat. Lips tingle just a bit.
I really like this beer. Some chili beers just bring the heat. Others go with the vegetal aspect of the pepper. This one goes for that nice roasted Hatch chili flavor and aspect. Nice little bit of spice to it. Great that it local to the Vegas valley as well. I am pretty much a chili head and love me some spicy flavorful food. This beer brings those aspects right into my beer glass. Cheers to the brewers at Lovelady!
