Presenting Colonel Kernza (in the brewery). A collaboration with 50in50: Kernza@ Across America. This hazy India Pale Lager features Kernza, a perennial grain that can sequester much more CO2 than traditional grains (barley, wheat or corn) and puts down roots up to 20ft down, preserving the soil. Kernza gives this beer a slight breadiness, while the Strata and Elani hops give it a lemon, lime and strawberry aroma. A perfect beer for warmer weather as it clocks in at 4.3% Alc. by Vol.

Appearance: 16 oz poured into a tulip glass yields a murky orange tan yellow pour, bright white head which leaves generous razor thin lacing and cover over the base. 3.75
Aroma: Faint grass and fresh bread. Rely had to work to get this much. 2.75
Taste: A bit more flavor, citrus leads, somewhat like a watered down tang mix, bread and grassy floral notes raise the pleasure. 3.25
Mouthfeel: Faint carbonation, drinks light and easy. Slightly dry and bitter overall, citrus bread grass finish. 3.25
Overall: This is a light beer in both potency and flavor. OK for hot weather, not sure is revisit. 3.0
