The nose on this beer is heavy coffee with a nice earthiness and hints of chocolate. Really inviting
The palate is bitter dark roast coffee up front giving way to a sugary sweetness mid palate and finishing with earthy, bitter coffee and a hint of chocolate. Really great balance of bitter and sweet.
Mouth feel is medium. Creamy with light carbonation

Pronounced coffee, a hint of smokiness. Characteristics of Yirgacheffe not present (fruity, blackberry jam, berries etc..). Acidity and brightness from said coffee not apparent either. Smooth and straight forward, but I really enjoyed it. Solid mouthfeel and quite satisfying. It has body, and feels substantive. I would guess a higher ABV, because the alcohol is prominent in taste and aroma. Would be an ideal no frills pint on a cool Autumn day. Mileage may vary, but I quite enjoy simpler porters and stouts.
I feel the need to mention Monigram Coffee Roasters as well, great third wave coffee joint. Indeed the region seems to have a lion's share of good coffee places and bakeries. Good to see. Attention to food and drink is how smaller Ontario towns will thrive.

Very much a coffee story, with alcohol. The process successfully took out the normal acid associated with Ethopian coffee. Decent but one dimensional without the lactose of a milk stout.
