Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer. Cheers!

Coffee barleywine
APPEARANCE: Pours a 2+ finger, medium looking, foamy and fizzy, off-white head with okay retention. Noisy head. Clear rust orange in color with medium carbonation evident .Head recedes to a full wisp cap. A splotchy wisp remains leaving some good lacing down the glass as it empties. Solid looking barleywine.
SMELL: Roasted coffee beans, vanilla cream, caramel and toffee aromas with some red fruits and alcohol on the nose. Plenty forthcoming and the coffee is in good balance at this point.
TASTE: Roasted coffee beans, vanilla notes, with plenty of sweet toffee and caramel flavors up front. More sweet malts and a bit of spicy booze at the swallow, moving into a bold finish of coffee, milk chocolate, sweet vanilla cream, as well as some pronounced caramel and toffee flavors and red fruits lingering on the palate. A bit of coffee bitterness and some alcohol as well.
PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. A little foamy on the palate perhaps, a touch lighter maybe too, goes down fine and finishes somewhat sticky on the palate. A touch of heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is really good stuff. The aromas and flavors work really well and the look and feel serve up a solid foundation. The coffee is certainly part of the show but is not the centerpiece by any means. I don’t know what this was like right out of the gate, but it’s at a nice, enjoyable, well balanced stage right now. If you’ve got one, this is the time to drink it. Very enjoyable indeed. Thanks again, guys!
