Can: Poured a cloudy deep burgundy color ale with a small off-white foamy head with limited retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramelized malt notes with light grainy notes and residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of sweet caramelized malt notes with light grainy notes and some fruity notes. Body is full with medium carbonation with some warming alcohol notes. Intense barleywine and glad I shared the bottle many ways.

500 ml bottle served fairly cold into an oversized wine glass.
Appearance - Dark brown in color with a half finger of loose yellowy-tan head that fizzles out.
Smell - Rich aromas of brown sugar, caramel, vanilla bourbon, a touch of leather. Sweeter and more dessert like than many.
Taste - Bourbon, vanilla, very boozy, some brown sugar and earthy hops. Quite sweet across the board. Some spices going on and then some treacle like bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Big and chewy, low carbonation, super full feel and semi-harsh booziness on the way out. Would be cloying if consumed to quick.
Overall - A special treat, a little on the harsh end, perhaps sitting on this for a year or two might mellow it out some. Nonetheless, nice to have a change of pace and enjoy a good sipper once in a while.
