Freshly canned from the brewer - pours a hazed pale yellow with massive 3 finger white cap ... brewer told me this was a rendition of a pre-prohibition American lager made with flaked maize....although I have no way of knowing what pre-prohibition lager was like, if this is a credible example it was a very pleasant, rounded, soft on the palate, drinkable brew suited to tavern taps...this sample has very demure aromas but you get the corn dextrin in the aroma with biscuit malts and grassy hop presence...very flavorful with a malt forward character with hop balance just below the grains and a kind of pear cider lightly sour balance....clean short finish with a biscuit bite at the end..decent lawnmower beer
