"Best by 2/24/23"; drank 9/5/22 @ the Yarchives.
Mostly see-through orange/red appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice khaki head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Caramel, orange peel & autumn leaf notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Caramel & mineral water flavors up front; autumn leaves & faint orange peel notes on the finish.
Flavorful but an easy quaffer; one of the better Chicagoland takes on this style!

Pours a dark amber color - almost auburn. Completely clear with a three finger off-white head dissipating leaving just a thin layer foam along the top of the beer. Lots of sticky lacing is left behind on the glass.
Aroma has notes of sweet grain, a hint of dark bread, and spicy grassy hops on the back end.
The taste is not at all what I expected from the aroma. Its got lots of dark bread, some coco and chocolate notes and some spicy grassy hops on the back end. Its not what I usually expect from a marzen - in a weird way its closer to a dunkel. Just a hint of sweetness that takes on some mild fruity ester notes.
Feel is light, smooth and crisp. Bright, prickly carbonation. Semi-dry finish.
Overall, its an interesting and unique märzen. The flavor profile is a bit odd, but its still a nice, enjoyable beer nonetheless.

Pours a soapy, tan head. Spicy hop aroma with a touch of toasted, caramel malt. Deep burnt umber color. Starts with a spicy bitterness. Peaks into a medium bitterness as caramel malt comes through. Lingering floral hop bitterness in the finish.
Not too shabby. Caramel maltiness dominates, but a pleasant hoppiness. Quite drinkable.
