Chicago common aged in rye whiskey barrel.
Working with our friends at Quincy Street Distillery in Riverside, we sourced a rye whiskey barrel and put it to bed with a full belly of our Chicago Common. A year later we're proud to share this combination of our respective passions.

From crowler
Pours clear amber with almost no head, which could be from the few weeks in spent in the crowler. Aromas of rye bread, sweet malt, toasted oak, vanilla, and carmel. Dry rye bread flavors dominate with some rye whisky spice in the background, finishing slightly sweeter with a crispness. Medium body that feels much like a lager despite being barrel aged. Really well done.

Had on draft. Nice grain, warm bread, and some spicy rye whiskey and oak notes come through both on the aroma and the taste. Its spicy, and warming, but not "hot" per se. Easy drinking for the ABV. Well worth trying.
