Announcing the release of our 2023 Lahgerwood! We aged our Baltic Porter in a Quincy Street Distillery Bourbon barrel with Madagascar vanilla beans. I can't think of a better way to kick off the impeding winter solstice!

Crowler into a tulip snifter, purchased 12/23/23, had 1/13/24.
Pours a dark cola color, mostly opaque, with a brief head and some speckled lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate, some bourbon, light oak. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla, malt, chocolate, some oak, light licorice and coffee, light herbal hop bitterness. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated on the low side- may have lost a bit with three weeks in the crowler.
The barrels have a good presence, the vanilla has a bigger one. The base beer is solid, as usual. The lower level of carbonation doesn’t help, but overall, it’s very good and enjoyable.
