Yards "Patio Punch"
$5/pint on tap at City Tap House Logan Square, Philadelphia, PA
From the menu: "6% Brewed in collaboration, exclusively for City Tap House. Named in appreciation of our University City's gorgeous expansive patio space, this is a crushable American Blonde. Same malt profile as Philly Pale, but much fruitier and bright from Crystal & Calypso hops".
Notes: "Crushable"? That seems a pretty immature term, but that's a little bit of the vibe I get from the City Tap House. Clear golden body beneath a creamy head of bright white that showed good head retention but only average lacing (hard to tell if that was just the glass or not). Hoppy aroma: fruity and gently citrusy, supposedly from crystal (I get that) and Calypso hops (which I'm not familiar with). Sweetish golden malt. Fairly bitter. Dry finish with residual citrus (which must be coming from the Calypso hops).
