Golden color. White soapy head. Big smells of ripe lime and some cracker. Taste follows the nose the lime really lends itself well to a west coast style ipa. Dry. A great ipa.

12 oz. can into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, grassy yellow with almost a finger of fluffy, bright white head and thick, soapy lacing. The nose is malty with lemon peel but a distinct aroma of lime, spice, and fragrant floral hops. The taste is bright and citrusy with lots of lemon peel, ripe lime, grapefruit. It's grassy and the Wakatu hops add grassy, earthy spiciness. The lime influence actually grows as it breathes in the glass. It has a mild, clean bitterness throughout. It's quite flavorful. The mouth feel is very lite and crisp with lively carbonation, and it's super drinkable at 5.4% ABV. Overall, I expected Heritage Surf to be gimmicky but it's flavorful and very refreshing on a hot, sunny day at the Shore. Kudos for the can art!

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dominated by limes. Taste is limes, hints of pine, mild bitterness. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

From a 16oz can dated 5/28/20 into a pint glass.
Pours a translucent pale golden color with about two fingers of fluffy white head. Decent retention and touch of lacing.
Doesn't really have a strong smell. Picked up some mild pine and grassy notes.
Picking up bitter pine on the front end of the sip but also fairly strong tangy lemony herbal taste on the swallow.
Mouthfeel is slightly thin with a bit of a strange metallic aftertaste. Carbonation is on the low end.
Overall, not sure what they were aiming for here, but it missed the mark for me.

From 16oz can pours translucent yellow with a thin white head that fades qucikly. Aroma is very light, but there’s a slight hint of pine. Taste is mostly light hop bitterness but low by modern IPA standards. Feel is good, mild carbonation and clean finish. Overall at 5.4% it’s decent and easy drinking.

Good take on hazy for Yards, not NEIPA caliber, but not bad downshift for philly scene. Do try, impressed.

Slightly more than a fingers crisp bone white froth... Modest retention... Pale copper color... Aroma is slightly musky and highlights an assortment of hop goodness... The hops take on a earthy character on the palate... Medium bodied... A simple and effective IPA, nothing more, nothing less...

Yards Brewing Co. "Heritage Surf IPA"
on tap/32 oz. growler $5.99 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ on 23 July 2018
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear yellow gold body beneath a finger thick head of white foam. The aroma is fruity, floral, and malty. The malt is sweetish and grainy, and the fruit is clearly coming from the hops but there might be some yeasty fruitiness in there as well. It's a fairly strong aroma but I'm not sure I'd call it bold, and it's tropical and citrusy - I know citrus is tropical but... you get it. There's a little bit of earthiness to it as well. On to the flavor... wow, that's good. It follows the aroma exactly except that there's a hint of honey to the malt; and it's superbly balanced between malt and hops. This is an IPA? It must be called that because of the hops because it doesn't seem that strong or bitter, although there is some solid bitterness in the finish. I'm finding notes of orange and mango, and maybe a hint of pineapple. It finishes dry with some hops lingering. It's medium bodied with a dextrinous feel, and gently crisp-then-smooth across the tongue. Overall it's quite nice, readily approachable, and highly drinkable. I'm sure I'd have no problem drinking four of these in a row. It's more like an amped up American pale ale than an IPA, and the strength (5.5% abv) certainly shows that as well. Very nice. Well worth trying.
