Winter Lager
When it's cold as a kegerator outside, you need a smooth and delicious winter lager to warm up your insides. So button up your trapdoor, and get ready to hibernate, because it's gonna be a Long Jawn winter.

It's ok, but not my favorite from them.
No head to speak of and no lacing.
The bottle says Winter Lager, but on here it's classified as a Schwarzbier.
That would explain the black patent finish I get on the aftertaste.
It's not a bad beer, but not at all what I was expecting.
I wouldn't get it again, as there are far better options available, in my opinion.

Brownish pour and amber highlights with a modest beige head, sticky lacing and abundant effervescence. Roasted malty nose. Dark fruit flavors taste - think toasted figs and sweetness follow through. Gentle advance of warmth. Texture mouthfeel has a moderate trail of bitter. This is a passable brew to have on hand. Semi dry finish.

Pitch brown body with a large frothy brown head, spotted lacing. Light roasted malts tones arise out of darker breadiness, cocoa, a hint of licorice, with a finishing sugary caramel tone that is inviting. Simpler taste: roasted caramel malt, dark chocolate, brown bread innards defining the yeast. Feel is flatter for the style but large in scale with considerable weight and dries out a bit to sing more on the palate

From a 12oz bottle dated 11/7/23 (couldn't see the date until after I poured it) into a pint glass.
Pours a thin, opaque black with about one finger of tan head. Meh retention and lacing.
Aroma. For some reason was getting saison or belgian yeasty notes before a sip then the olfactories kicked into gear. Definitely a strong smoky note. Some cinnamon and spice.
Taste follows right along. No surprises.
Thin to medium-bodied. Medium to high carbonation. Smoky aftertaste.
This isn't bad. No, really, it's not bad. Actually it fits the season well.

Its an average winter lager, too many others better to return to this one. Does not burden with any detectable holiday spices, but nothing that stands out as well

Small, fast fading tan head with little lacing over a dark ruby body. Aroma of molasses, cocoa and coffee. Hops finally show up in the taste. Floral hints, as well as spice, pair up to add balance to the earthiness of the malts. Toasty, medium bodied, modestly carbonated mouthfeel. . Makes a fine Winter warmer.

Pours a dark brown with reddish copper edges and a finger of head. There is some light roastiness on the nose as well as a bit of an acidic note. The roasted quality is also found in the flavor profile along with a trace of bitter cocoa on the finish. The body is hearty.
