Yards brews this beer to be mixed with an Imperial Stout (also seldom available) to create their Entire Porter. Sometimes a few barrels of either the Mild or the Imperial Stout will make it out of the brewery.
The alcohol content is very, very low, probably about 3%. The thing that surprised me about this beer is how dark it is, almost black.
True to its name, it is very mild. It is also very thin. The tastes are subtle.

Very dark brown, almost black, but clear brown highlights can be seen at the bottom and sides of the glass. The head is dense and thick, starting with a full inch of head and dropping to a solid 1/8" that holds well. It almost looks like a nitro head. Very nice. The aroma is limited, offering a soft roastiness. The body is light with a very fine, soft carbonation. Although it's a standard keg, it's almost as if it were a cask. Very smooth in the mouth. The flavor offers a little light chocolate and a gentle roastiness with some sweet malt and a limited bitterness. I'm not sure what the alcohol content is, but this would make a great session brew - just enough character to keep your interest, and light enough to enjoy several in a night without overwhelming the senses. The finish is mild, with a lightly lingering maltiness.
