Great flavor and feel. Remarkable considering the abv. Actually wish there was a light version with less abv. Fun can, as part of their video game beer series.

Deep golden pour with a foamy cap of white. The nose isn't particularly strong, leaning toward citrus, maybe a bit floral. Flavor is primarily citrus, some tropical fruit, grass and a drier bite that I'll owe to the inclusion of El Dorado hops in the mix. Best of all is the Imperial ABV of 9.2% is beautifully disguised (so watch out!).

Pours amber with a medium white head. Aroma is mild tropical fruit. Taste follows with tropical fruit and some hop bitterness. More sweet than bitter. Feel is good, rich mouth feel. Overall not great and and certainly not bad.

Dark brown with a slight head. Fruity aromas, and the taste is heavy in tropicalish fruit and sweetness. Not much hop character or bitterness to balance it out. Doesn't feel too boozy despite the high AbV, medium mouthfeel.

Notes via stream of consciousness: The label reads "SUPER DELUXE MEGA AWESOME BEER" AT 9.2% - WOW! It's poured a lightly hazy deep golden body beneath a thumb's width of white foam. As is the case with many double or "Imperial" IPAs there's both malt and hops in the aroma, and the hops aren't as bright as they might be in a standard IPA. It's sweetly grainy with fruity notes of candied berries, dried citrus, and non-specific tropical fruits. The flavor opens up and gives you much more clarity. I'm tasting additional notes of peach, pineapple, candied lemon, passionfruit, guava, mango, watermelon, soft grapefruit, pine... ... ... flowers... and bubblegum (?). It's really rather complex and although it seems muddled at first sip if you keep looking those notes all become clear. In fact, now that I've figured out that I'm tasting bubblegum I'm getting a lot more of it, and I also just found some apple and pear. The bitterness is moderate given the amount of malt that's there yet it finishes mainly dry with some floral character, grass, earthiness, herbs, spice, and pine lingering. I'm not sure if that spiciness is from the alcohol or not. It certainly has a presence to it all of the way through but it doesn't stick out and it's not harsh, which is quite nice for being 9.2%. That may be a little bit of "hop burn" as well although I don't get it as clearly as I do in some New England style IPAs. The head held up fairly well, particularly for such a strong beer, but it did settle earlier on. The good news on that front is that I've still got a thin but completely solid surface covering of foam, and the lacing covers the entire glass from where it started to where it stands now. There are what appear to be clouds dripping heavy rain down upon the liquid below. It's kind of surrealistic in a way. In the mouth it's full bodied on the lower end, and maybe even medium-full. It's surprisingly creamy and smooth given that it's not a haze-bomb. I was actually chuclking a little bit at their putting "SUPER DELUXE MEGA AWESOME BEER" on the label but it kind of deserves it. This is actually a really nice double IPA that stays within its lane but branches out a little bit with the hop flavors. Very nicely done! Without looking I'm going to guess that this is the highest I've ever rated a beer from Yards and that says a lot because I really loved their Extra Special Ale.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet/wide mouth: color is gold, transparent, head is brighter white and presents 1/4 inch thick and then dissipates to a ring with very nice lacing on the glass sides.
Smell is light sweet malt, hint of honey, really no booziness, hops are light pine, herbs, hint of citric acid.
Taste is similar with light sweet malt, no caramel more honey like, light hops with pine, herbal, and a tripel like quality; booziness is really well hidden.
Mouthfeel is low/moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, moderate bitterness and then some lingering bitter sweetness.
Overall a big brew that drinks lighter, booziness is really well hidden but the hoppiness is not very bitter/overdone; reminds me of a tripel in some ways - I will seek this one out as long as its out.

With this one, looks are very deceiving. The aroma is very deceiving, too. This offering came from a tap, served in a clear pint glass. It's sort of ordinary looking. Amber, more translucent than opaque and not much for providing a great head. It smells ordinary, too. There's some malt and some hops and some, just some alcohol. Then, this drinks just like an ordinary AIPA. Mildly hoppy, but not too bitter, with enough malt for balance and a hint of alcohol to fill out the taste. With a nice body, this slides down the gullet very easily. In fact, too easily. At 9.2% ABV, this offers no warning sign. It drinks like an average AIPA. Maybe just a little sweeter, but the alcohol level within is as well disguised as any with this potency. You'll certainly want another after having the first, but be careful. This truly is very mega.
