It's a nice pour that empties a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. Most importantly, there's no stark white foam on top, although the just off-white head could have used a little more staying power. The brew is brightly light amber and quite translucent. But the aroma is rich with both malt and hops, so this should be more than an ordinary quaff. First impression is how smoothly this drinks, whilst bringing a body way above average. Listed as an IPA, somehow this manages to include attributes more associated with a good Pilsner. That's how subtle this is. There's plenty of hops to be had, but even for the average beer drinkers' taste, they only make it flavorful, but not bitter. Overall, this is fully flavored, with mainstream hops in a remarkably smooth body. The 7.2 ABV is hard to detect, but so was the glass lacing. There are no excesses, so almost every beer lover should appreciate this one.
