The name is somewhat misleading as there is no pumpkin in the beer just pumpkin pie spices.
This is a love it or hate it beer. Very, very heavy with the cinnamin; it tastes like a stick of Big Red chewing gum. While I know several folks who love this beer a lot, one glass was enough for me.

This is a limited edition beer done for the fall season. Draft only. The keg has a muslin bag of spices added to it. I'm not sure, but I'm quite positive that Philadelphia Pale Ale is used as the base. Only slightly hazy, amber in color with a full, frothy off-white head that holds well and leaves some nice lace. The aroma is intensely spicy, mainly of cinnamon, but there are obviously other spices there as well. What differentiates this from other pumpkin beers is that the spice seems very fresh! The body is light with a fine bubbled, standard level of carbonation. The flavor is, again, of bright & fresh spices only minimally backed by maltiness. What malt is present appears to be well-balanced with a supportive bitterness. It finishes long and dry with lasting spiciness. Although it's one-sided (and what pumpkin beer isn't), it's quite unique among pumpkin beers. Very bold with fresh spicing. I've never tasted one quite like it. I don't know anyone who really likes pumpkin beer, although I'm sure there are some, but for most of us this is a "one pint" beer. If you're going to try it, make it your last for the night as the fresh spiciness tends to hold on the palate.
