Poured from the tap at the Yard's brew house in Philadelphia, it arrived in a clear pint glass. It's brightly light copper in color, with a proper off-white head that proves to have sustaining power. It's closer to translucent than to opaque. The aroma isn't as floral, nor as piney as expected, considering the listed ingredients. It drinks lightly and carries a nice hop kick that is both piney and floral, just as the house menu described. The 8% ABV is only slightly noticed and in a good way. This is a case where the lighter than usual body actually augments the mouthfeel. It's so light and easy drinking, it could cause problems as it is rather potent. There's plenty of nearly solid glass lacing, so it's obvious this has plenty of malting. The malt also contributes an early taste layer that's followed by more piney and resinous hops at the finish. Overall, it's a delightful, yet substantial brew.
