Bourbon-barrel-aged version of the Trubbel de Yards "tripel dubbel."

Served in a stem glass, a nearly opaque dark brown color, with a finger of creamy tan head that receded to a ringlet after a minute or so. In the nose, woody malts, yeast, caramel and molasses, bitter dark dried fruits, and a touch of booze. The taste reflected the aroma, caramel malts, molasses, bourbon-soaked wood, distinct vanilla notes, cola, a touch of grape skin and dried plums, light earthy bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel was medium, moderate to low carbonation, and a stiff boozy heat throughout, that could maybe stand to mellow a bit with time. Pretty tasty beer overall, and a good (though not necessarily better) bourbon-aged alternative to the typical bb stout option that so permeates the wale market these days.
