Blind-tasted apart from it's name. Interesting it is styled a Tripel Blond - unusual. Similarly it's named 'Plugstreet', far away from anything trad...
L- Mid-gold, pours with very minor haze. some accreted sediment left in the bottle. Fast rising CO2 (nucleated glass assisiting) into a 3-4cm pillowy white whipped-cream head. 4
S- Not too loud but quite bright plus some subtle Belgian ester notes. 3.75
T- Has some spicy edge, dry hops and malt move into balance. I wouldn't over-chill this one unless enjoying this one in summer perhaps; it's dryer/brighter than I'd expect from a 'classic Tripel' 3.5
F- Is this a contemporary spin on a Tripel; it might fit such a goal. I wish it had a bit more malty body to balance it's high CO2 and bright palate. 3.25
O- I don't know I can figure out what this beer is pitching to be, a Tripel for more modern tastes, lower ABV%, higher hops? As it warms a touch I'm beginning to notice a small sweet note rising. I can finish it but overall it's not really one for me. 3.25
Rated/reviewed in draft, now I'll check out the lable for clues. - 7.5%, seriously? I didn't get a hint of that. Mind you some say an invisible high ABV% is highly skilled brewing. Contains barley and wheat malt. 330ml bottle, BB: 13/12/25 £3.95 from the always-worth-keeping-an-eye-on chaps at Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds, UK.
