From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on March 24, 2018.

I was impressed with the ruby red-hued-amber brown pour that built up to a tremendous light tan head. It fades and laces some.

The aroma brings out characters of dark bread, sweet toffee, a hint of chocolate, and resiny hops.

The body is medium toward full but overall smooth.

The chocolate character I got on the nose is not noted in the taste but I do get a solid malt presence, low to no booze (for over 9%), and a cleansing bitter hop finish.

Bottle from Bert's shared with friends.
Fairly clear deep auburn with a decent sized off white head. Aromas of caramel and toffee with lots of earthy pine and citrus. The flavor follows the aroma quite well but adds a solid sharp bitterness that at times is quite astringent. Hides the alcohol extremely well. Decent but needs some tweaks to make this outstanding.

Poured into my 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass not sure when it was bottled. Pours a perfect ruby red with a thick 2 plus finger off white head that has amazing retention and clings to the sides of the glass.

Smell is caramel, pine, biscuit, toffee, tangerine, and grapefruit.

Taste is caramel, toffee, and biscuit upfront before it hammers your taste buds with strong piney grapefruit.

Mouthfeel is on the large side, moderate carbonation which is perfect, a little dry, and excellent drinkability for 9% ABV a friend of the Brewers told me.

Overall this is a very nice Hoppy Red, the nose is better than it tastes, but a very good brew.
