Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
I mean, I don't think of guavas when I think of Chi-Town, but, then again, I'm not sure what fruit I would associate therewith, so fair enough. Anyway, this stuff pours a mostly clear straw topped by over a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises wet wheat, citrus fruits (I assume this is the guava, but I've not had an actual guava before, so I'm stuck kinda guessing there...it's somewhat similar to a ruby red grapefruit here, if that helps my case any), and a touch of lemon peel. The taste leads with some tart lemon and citrus (again, I assume that's the guava), then allows a bit of cracked wheat and what seems like coriander to come through to provide a touch of balance. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a mildly sticky finish. Overall, a pretty nice Berliner, though not something I would necessarily seek out again in the future, if for no other reason than the somewhat odd and off-putting smell.
