7% or 7.2% as the can suggests, either way, this isn't your regular American stout, so this was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a beautiful dark brown close to black color topped by a swiftly dissipating semi-foamy eggshell white head. Slight small ring of lace slides into some web.
The aroma had dark chocolate running into sweet and roasty coffee beans then some peanut/nutty roastiness with some dark toast. Everything coming together very nicely!
The flavor brings forth the sweetness combination of nutty to dark chocolatey goodness. Some milk chocolate malty sweetness makes a good play to blend. Barely any aftertaste, it's quick, I must admit, somewhat chocolate malty.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and ABV. Slight stickiness but I expected that for an imperial milk/sweet stout. Pretty nice creamy finish with dark roasty chocolate and milk chocolate.
Overall, works for me as an imperial milk/sweet stout, but not an American stout.
