A unique German leichtbier-inspired Summer ale is brewed with a generous proportion of German spelt malt and undergoes a cool fermentation with a Kolsch yeast. Playin' Hooky has a soft, tasty malt profile balanced by the subtle yet sophisticated use of Czech and German Noble hops. This beer is very light, clean, crisp and slightly tart - making it a perfect Summer session beer.

Can to stange glass.
The appearance was a fairly thick burnt yellow to paper orange color. A bubbly to foamy head quickly settled to barely leave any lace.
The aroma had some soft sweet corn, sweet grains, biscuit malts then a lemon pulpy tickle with some light tart character, somewhat grassy.
The flavor moderately leaned towards the sweet end slowly developing some tartness. But even the tartness stays far underneath. Semi-sticky aftertaste of biscuits and some tart lemon.
The mouthfeel was light bodied and extremely sessionable. Carbonation felt pretty spot on. Finishes with some clean biscuits and tart lemon.
Overall, well, I liked this one for me but somehow don't believe this was done to style. Extremely slammable and I would still come back to this.
