16 oz can, dated 10/19/21, into Ugly Sweater Run pint glass.
Pours a rather thin looking light brown color, with a tall creamy khaki head of 3 fingers. It stays stable for awhile before receding to 2 fingers leaving thick lacing.
Aroma is ash and Black Hills dirt, wrought with pine and smokiness and memories of my childhood. There is a faint nuttiness and I do mean faint, but I wouldn't have been able to tell you if it wasn't named this way.
Flavor brings a distinct smoothness not unlike a milk stout with soft oats, and then follows with a mixture of burnt nuts and dirt, rust, and then softer chocolate notes, some smooth caramel, and then hard burnt pot coffee. Lingering piney bitterness and some more coffee and remnants of burnt nuts.
Feel is slick and smooth, creamy even, with a good carbonation level and some tightness pulling at the cheeks and tongue.
Overall it's a good porter and it's well brewed. Pecan is a misnomer though - it's hardly here. Pecans aside, if you're looking for a good basic (Baltic? I get that vibe) porter, this one fits nicely. This is a rough n' tumble moderately bitter porter. Tastes like the air from a trail ride camp at the tail end of fall.
I don't mind it. You won't find pecans though.

Pours dark brown and clear. Aromas of smoke, char, roasted malt, and faint hopping.
Roasted malts on the tip of the tongue. Sweeter nuttier notes in midstream along with hints of coffee and tobacco. The finish is astringent and a touch boozy.
Medium to Medium-full bodied. Well-attenuated, so it has a relatively short and drying finish.
The biggest markdown here is the lack of much in the way of pecan anything. That said, this is an interesting rustic porter. It has some Baltic porter notes going on, especially the roasty smoky notes.
